Indiana EdCast: Ep. #53 — Coach Sparkle on ILEARN
Feb 27, 2019
Welcome to Indiana EdCast, I am Tom Mellish, ED for IRTA, The Association that advocates for all Indiana retired educators. Please email me at email@example.com with your questions. We will find out the answer for you.
We are joined once again by Coach Sparkle, aka Ashley Kendricks, an instructional coach for Pleasant Hill Elementary in the North Montgomery Schools.
We welcome Coach Sparkle and look forward to her thoughts on various educational instructional and classroom ideas. Today our focus will be on Indiana’s new test program ILEARN and the prep for it. For additional resources and information about the ILEARN program, you can read about them in this complimentary presentation.
In this episode, we discuss the new ILEARN and how Kendricks helps teachers and students prep for the new testing program. Two perks of the program are the shorter test and only a single administration.
When are the testing windows this year?
When are districts supposed to receive the results back?
Is there a writing component to this test?
What else do you know about the test?
The DOE has put together for teachers a toolkit or toolbox to help prepare. What help has it provided you and your teachers?
