The IRTA is asking members to rally membership against HB 1463 “Defined Contribution Option Plan”, which passed out of the Senate Labor and Pension Committee with a vote of 6-3 party line vote.

We oppose DC Plans on many levels, but our main concern for future educators is that they will not have a secure or stable retirement if they have only a Defined Contribution Plan. 401K Plans were never meant to be a full retirement vehicle, it was designed to be supplemental savings tool.
